‘He is a beast in T20 now’ – Fans react as Yashasvi Jaiswal makes T20I history for India with half-century in powerplay during clash vs Australia

Team India has locked horns against Australia for the second T20I on November 26 at Greenfield Cricket Stadium. However, India’s star batter, Yashasvi Jaiswal, has become the top scorer for Team India in terms of scoring the maximum number of runs in the powerplays in T20Is.

Notably, the top-order batter has scored 53 runs from just 25 balls, featuring nine fours and two sixes, with a phenomenal strike rate of 212, which gives them a flying start. Notably, Yashasvi Jaiswal has been retained by the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2024 retention. The star cricketer produced a magnificent show in IPL 2023, which helped him earn the India cap.

Moreover, the opening batter also played an imperative role in the Asian Games 2023 and helped India win the gold medal in the marquee event. The left-handed batter has also played a great role in the West Indies and Ireland series ahead of the Asian Games in 2023.

Captaincy for Team India is a new challenge and responsibility: Suryakumar Yadav

Meanwhile, India’s stand-in skipper, Suryakumar Yadav, revealed that batting first will be the new challenge for them, as they were hoping to chase down the total, considering the dew factor, late at night. In addition, the 33-year-old cricketer also talks about how the last game gave them confidence ahead of the second T20I.

“We were also looking to chase looking at the amount of dew that was there last night. It’ll be a new challenge for us, to go out there and put a score and then defend it. The last game gave us a lot of confidence, the boys were great, we will carry the same momentum. Captaincy is a new challenge and responsibility, I’m enjoying it. We’re going in with the same team,” Suryakumar Yadav said at the toss.
