Star young batters, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rinku Singh are likely to be in consideration by the Indian Cricket Board for the upcoming India tour of the West Indies. Both the cricketers had an exceptional outing in the recently ended season of the Indian Premier League for their respective franchises.

With their performances in IPL 2023, Jaiswal and Rinku have caught the attention of the selectors and may get selected in the India T20I squad for the upcoming series against the Windies. Notably, starting from July 12th, India will two Tests, 3 ODIs and 5 T20Is against in West Indies. This series will also be crucial looking at the upcoming ODI World Cup in India and the 20-20 World Cup in West Indies and USA next year.

Both batters turned out to be asset for their teams in IPL 2023

Playing for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2023, Yashasvi Jaiswal has been sensational with his bat as he turned out to be the highest scorer for his team and the fifth leading run-scorer of the season. The 21-year-old amassed 625 runs in 14 matches at an average of 48.07 with five fifties and a hundred. He also broke the record for fastest IPL fifty in the season as he smashed a half-century of just 13 balls in match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR)

While on the other hand, Rinku Singh caught the attention of the cricketing fraternity when he hit five consecutive sixes and won the match for KKR from the jaws of defeat against Gujarat Titans. After that, the 25-year-old didn’t look back and has been the most consistent for KKR throughout the season. He was the top scorer for his team as he scored 474 rus from 14 matches at an average of 59.25 with four fifties. He has finished the game for KKR in many occasions and turned out to be one of hte best finishers of the season.

However, it isn’t confirmed yet whether the selectors will consider them for the upcoming series. But an India call-up would be a great opportunity for both youngsters to cement their place in the squad ahead of the 20-20 World Cup in 2024.
