‘Yhi karte rahoo bass’ – Fans react as Hyderabad Cricket Association requests Indian Cricket Board to change 2023 World Cup schedule

Notably, the ODI World Cup schedule witnessed significant changes by the Apex Cricket Council less than a week ago, featuring changes in nine matches, including the much-anticipated clash between India and Pakistan that shifted to October 14 from October 15. In addition, the Indian Cricket Board and Apex Cricket Council have recently been given an immense challenge with a further request for a change in the World Cup schedule.

Speaking on the same subject, the Hyderabad Police expressed their security concerns for conducting back-to-back matches at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. Notably, the stadium will host the first match between New Zealand and the Netherlands on October 9, while the Babar Azam side will be taking on Sri Lanka on October 10. Following the same, the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) has requested the Indian Cricket Board to give a gap between these two matches in Hyderabad.

This request came when the fans were busy booking their tickets for the World Cup

Moreover, this request came when the cricketing fans were busy booking their tickets for the upcoming major tournament that is slated to take place in host country India commencing on October 5 with the cash between England and New Zealand.

According to the reports, no one from the Indian Cricket Board had consulted the Hyderabad Cricket Association concerning the change in date for conducting back-to-back matches. Following the same, Hyderabad Police made the cricket association officials learn about the issue by informing them that they were unlikely to be able to provide adequate security, especially for the Pakistan match, which is on October 10.

Meanwhile, the officials have to look into the issue, as the Babar Azam side has already expressed their worries concerning security issues. Earlier, the Pakistan Foreign Ministry was reluctant to send their team to India regarding security issues, but later they allowed the Men in Green to travel to India but requested the Apex Cricket Council to provide proper security to the Babar Azam side during the upcoming ODI World Cup.
