‘Great motivation by legend’ – Fans react to Yuvraj Singh’s motivational message for Shubman Gill ahead of Pakistan match

Team India is all set to lock horns against Pakistan on October 14 for their third game of the ODI World Cup 2023, which will take place at the iconic Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad. However, there is no clarity on Shubman Gill playing against the Men in Green. Notably, the star cricketer also missed their first two clashes against Australia and Afghanistan due to dengue fever.

However, former India cricketer Yuvraj Singh had encouraged and strengthened Shubman Gill to play the game against Babar Azam and Co. on October 14 to help India continue their solid form in the marquee event. The legendary cricketer inspired him by sharing that he has played in the World Cup despite having cancer and performed well. In addition, the former southpaw is hopeful about the 24-year-old batter playing against Pakistan on his IPL home ground.

“Shubham Gill ko maine tagda kar diya hai [I have strengthened Shubham Gill]. I told him that I had played in the World Cup while battling cancer, so I got ready quickly to join the team. Hopefully, he will be ready for the India vs Pakistan game,” Yuvraj Singh said on ANI.

The 2011 ODI World Cup-winning star accepted that it is hard for the players to play the match in a disease like dengue. Moreover, the former great all-rounder feels India can win the game against the Men in Green, as they have shown stellar form in the first two games.

“When you have a fever and dengue, it is really tough to play a cricket match, and I have experienced that. So I hope that if he is fit, then he will definitely play. India is already confident because they have beaten Australia and Afghanistan,” he added further.

Meanwhile, right-handed batter Shubman Gill’s presence will bolster Team India owing to his record-breaking performance at Ahmedabad ground.

Playing cricket with having cancer was a bold decision taken by Yuvi Paaji. But he is one in himself. All others are different and do not have such type of guts. India should look to rest Gill if he is not fully fit bcz there prime goal is to win WC
