Star India batter Smriti Mandhana completes 200 international matches for India during 3rd T20I against Bangladesh

In the 3rd T20I, Bangladesh beat India by four wickets at Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka. Despite losing the game, India Women won the series 2-1. Bangladesh bounced back after losing the first two games and outplayed India in every department. Star India batter Smirti Mandhana achieved a massive milestone while participating in the 3rd T20I against Bangladesh. She played 200 international matches for India. However, this remarkable match didn’t bring any fortune for Mandhana, as she failed to perform once again.

Smirti Mandhana scored just 1 run in the 3rd T20I and continued her poor form. In the ongoing T20I series, she scored 52 runs in 3 innings at an average of 17.33. Her poor form has been one of the biggest concerns for the Indian team. However, despite winning the T20I series, India needs to work on their batting.

Indian batters failed against Bangladesh

Earlier, after winning the toss, India skipper Harmanpreet Kaur opted to bat first. Her decision didn’t go well with the team, as India lost both openers for just 20 runs. However, skipper Kaur and Jemimah Rodrigues added 45 runs for the third wicket. Rodrigues, in her inning, scored 28 runs off 26 balls with the help of four boundaries.

Kaur, in her innings, scored 40 runs off 41 balls with the help of three boundaries and a six. Their partnership helped India post 102/9 in 20 overs. For Bangladesh, Rabeya Khan took three wickets, while Sultana Khatun got two scalps. In response, the hosts batted well and chased down the tragedy in just 18.2 overs. Shamima Sultana was the top scorer for them, scoring 42 runs off 46 balls with the help of three boundaries.

For India, Minnu Mani and Devika Vaidya clinched two wickets each, while Rodrigues got one wicket. Notably, after this three-match T20I series, India will face Bangladesh in a three-match ODI series starting on July 16 at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka.
