‘The Indian cap has become very easy to get’ – Former India cricketer Atul Wassan makes stunning remark

The great performers during the recently concluded IPL 2023 have been called up to be a part of the senior men’s team. Recently, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Mukesh Kumar, and Tilak Varma made their debuts during the West Indies tour, while KKR batter Rinku Singh received his India cap during the first T20I against Ireland. Notably, Punjab Kings batter Jitesh Sharma has earned the call-up for the upcoming Asian Games. Meanwhile, speaking on the same subject, former India cricketer Atul Wassan feels getting an India cap has become very easy.

In addition, the former pacer expressed happiness and said good and deserving players should get a chance to play. Moreover, the right-arm pacer also affirms that it is a great move that most of the players are getting the chance to play for the country.

“The Indian cap has become very easy to get. We should watch that. I think good players should get a chance. There are so many teams in T10, T20, 50-over or etc. I think most players are getting a chance to play for the country,” Wassan told India.com.

Meanwhile, the 55-year-old cricketer also lauded India’s star pacer, Jasprit Bumrah, for his comeback. In addition, the great cricketer says that injuries are bound to happen. Moreover, the Delhi-born bowler affirms that if Bumrah is holding himself back, the star pacer is increasing his career.

“I think the back injury is such that the effort he will put in will be seen. If he is holding himself back, then he is increasing his career. If he gets the same intensity and gets injured again, then whatever he achieved with this action, this injury was bound to happen,” he added further.

Notably, Jasprit Bumrah and Co. had won the first T20I by two runs against Ireland on August 18. Meanwhile, the Men in Blue will be seen in action during the second T20I that is slated to take place on August 20 in Dublin.
