‘Ab maza aa raha hai’ – Fans react as team India seal T20I series 2-0 against Ireland

Jasprit Bumrah and Co. beat Ireland by 33 runs to win the second T20I and take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match T20I series on August 20. Notably, Team India had a terrific start as openers Ruturaj Gaikwad and Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 18 and 58 runs, respectively. Following them, star middle order batters Sanju Samson (40), Rinku Singh (38) and Shivam Dube (22) helped the visitors post a total of 185/5 in the given 20 overs after being sent to bat first.

Later, while chasing, the home team had an awful start as captain Stirling and wicketkeeper-batsman Tucker departed for ducks. Notably, the star opener, Balbirnie, tried hard to reach near the total but couldn’t cross the finishing line as the great batter was departed by India’s young pacer Arshdeep Singh after his 72 runs from 51 balls with a solid strike rate of 142.

It is tough to pick XI: Jasprit Bumrah

Meanwhile, stand-in skipper Jasprit Bumrah expressed happiness after sealing the series 2-0 against Paul Stirling’s side and called the day very pleasing. Notably, the star pacer says that picking an 11 for the match is a headache as everyone aims to play for India and is very confident in performing well. In addition, the 29-year-old cricketer also reveals that if somebody plays with some expectations, one will always have to play under pressure, so one must set aside their expectations; otherwise, it won’t be justice to oneself.

“I am feeling good, it was a little drier today. We thought it would get slower, so we batted first. It is very pleasing. It is tough to pick XI. It is a great headache to have. Everyone is eager and everyone is confident. All of us want to play for India. Eventually, everyone finds their way up. If you play with the baggage of expectations, you are under pressure. You have to set those expectations aside. You are not doing yourself 100% justice if you are playing with so many expectations,” Jasprit Bumrah said during the post-match presentation.
