‘The top of the order, the batting order, three world-class all-rounders’ – Sunil Gavaskar on his ‘Favourite Team’ to win ODI World Cup 2023

All the cricket teams are gearing up to win the 2023 ODI World Cup, which will commence on October 5. Notably, Team India opted to bat first against England before rain halted the play during their warm-up fixture at Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati. All 10 teams have arrived in the host country, India, and started their preparations for the marquee event set to commence in just a week.

Meanwhile, Team India has been emerging as the favourites to win the tournament, thanks to stellar performances in the recently concluded Asia Cup 2023 and the series win against Australia by 2-1. In addition, England and South Africa also look in magnificent form, as they also registered series wins over New Zealand and Australia, respectively, ahead of the ODI World Cup 2023. Team Pakistan is also ranked as one of the top teams in the ODI rankings.

However, as the Touurnamnet is around the corner, a plethora of former cricketers and experts have started picking their favourite team to win the ODI World Cup 2023. Notably, former India cricketer turned analyst Sunil Gavaskar is one of them who has picked a team that can win the big tournament and light up the show.

Intrestingly, the former India skipper has named the Jos Buttler-led English side, who can win the ODI World Cup 2023. In addition, the well-renowed cricket commentator feels England has the best batters as well as three wonderful all-rounders who can contribute with ball and ball easily. The legendary cricketer also talked about the bowling line-up of the defending champions.

“The defending champions, England, because of the kind of talent that they have at, at the top of the order, the batting order, they’ve got two or three world-class all-rounders who can change the game with both bat and ball. They’ve also got a very good bowling line-up, an experienced bowling line-up, so at the moment in my book certainly,” Sunil Gavaskar said on Star Sports.
