Should Team India play with Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj together in ODI World Cup 2023? Check out what experts have to say

Team India is all set to lock horns against Australia on October 8 in Chennai to commence their ODI World Cup 2023 journey. Notably, Team India has the best pace attack; however, India’s skipper, Rohit Sharma, believes in playing any two out of three with the likes of Mohammed Siraj, Mohammed Shami, and Jasprit Bumrah and keeps Hardik Pandya as the third pacer in the squad.

However, what seems right is that the Men in Blue should use the trio over any other two for the big tournament. Notably, Mumbai Indians bowler Jasprit Bumrah showed his magnificent form during the Ireland tour and the Asia Cup 2023, whereas Mohammed Siraj had six wickets against Sri Lanka in the final of the Asia Cup 2023, which guided Rohit Sharma’s side to win the title.

Following the same, GT bowler Mohmmed Shami registered a 5-wicket haul during the first ODI series against Australia and decimated Pat Cummins and Co.’s batting line-up in the absence of Mohammed Siraj. Notably, a plethora of experts suggest to the Indian team to make use of all three pacers in the ODI World Cup 2023 owing to their lethal form as well as their home soil conditions.

Together they make the best pace attack in the world: Lakshmipathy Balaji

Former India pacer Lakshmipathy Balaji feels India should use all three pacers in the ODI World Cup 2023, especially against top-class teams. The former right-arm seamer suggests that the Men in Blue should not compromise their strength. Moreover, the 41-year-old cricketer feels all three players in the game make the best pace attack.

“Conditions notwithstanding, India should play these three pacers together in the big games like England, Australia, Pakistan and New Zealand. Rotate them in the other games if there is an issue of preserving them in such a long tournament, but there’s no point holding them back in key games. Together they make the best pace attack in the world and why compromise on your strength,” Lakshmipathy Balaji told TOI.
