‘Good test for us as to how we come up against the challenge…’ – Temba Bavuma’s strong verdict ahead of their clash against India
The South African team is all set to lock horns against India on November 5 in their eighth game of the ODI World Cup 2023 at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Notably, the Proteas are in great form and consistently place themselves at the number two spot after registering six wins and one loss over the Netherlands in the ongoing marquee event.
Meanwhile, South Africa’s captain, Temba Bavuma, has talked about India’s bowling attack ahead of the much-anticipated clash. The 33-year-old cricketer had hailed India’s great spinners, Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja, for their magnificent spells. In addition, the stylish right-handed batsman feels that their batsmen have played very well against the spin, and it will be a great chance for their side to test their batsmen against the top team of the marquee event.
“Kuldeep (Yadav) has bowled very well. He’s been taking wickets for them in the middle, in conjunction with (Ravindra) Jadeja. So, they’ve been quite key within that middle phase. I think we’ve played spin quite well as a team over the last couple of years. So, it’ll be a good test for us batters as to how we come up against the challenge of Yadav as well as Jadeja,” Temba Bavuma said in the pre-match media conference.

Moreover, the opening batsman reveals that they will try to give everything in the game against Rohit Sharma and Co. in their next clash.
“You respect the strength and the threats that they bring. It’s obviously a world-class bowling attack in their condition. We’re going to have to have our A games upcome tomorrow.
