‘I hope they can manage these expectations…’ – Former Pakistan skipper’s massive claim after Team India thrash South Africa in ODI World Cup 2023
Team India will end up in the top spot in the league stage of the ODI World Cup 2023, owing to their eight out of eight wins in the ongoing marquee event. Notably, Rohit Sharma and Co. demolished in-form South Africa in their last clash on November 5 at Eden Gardens in Kolkata, owing to their magnificent batting and bowling efforts. The Men in Blue defeated Australia in their opening game, while they defeated Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh, New Zealand, England, and Sri Lanka before thrashing the Proteas in their recent game.
Following the magnificent win, a plethora of experts and former cricketers have started praising the hosts. Notably, former Pakistani cricketer Salman Butt is one of them who lauded Team India for their winning streak. The legendary cricketer hit back at Hasan Raza’s statement and said that people will make baseless comments and remarks if their opponents win.
The 39-year-old cricketer says that the Men in Blue have really performed well and have not repeated the venues as well, which gives them time to settle out. Moreover, the Lahore-born cricketer feels that Rohit Sharma and Co. have won because they are playing good cricket.
“You can’t stop people from saying such things. But they are playing on different grounds. They haven’t played two matches at the same venue. They have done well on both red and black soil. Have performed in all kinds of conditions. There’s no point in discussing such baseless things. They are winning everything because they are playing the best cricket,” Salman Butt said on his YouTube channel.
The expectations of the Indian fans have increased exponentially: Salman Butt
The former opening batsman reveals that Indian fan’s expectations have increased owing to their magnificent performances. In addition, Salman Butt wishes that Team India win the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023 to live up to their fans hopes.
“The expectations of the Indian fans have increased exponentially due to their dominating performances. I hope they can manage these expectations because it has never happened before that they have won all of their matches so comprehensively in a World Cup,” he added further.
