‘We are the best Team’ – Fans react as Sachin Tendulkar shares heartfelt message for Team India after losing in ODI World Cup 2023 final against Australia
Team India suffered a heartbreaking six-wicket loss over the strong Australian side, who completely dominated in the ODI World Cup 2023 final to win their sixth title of the ODI World Cup in Indian home soil conditions. Speaking about the game, the hosts were only able to post 240 runs owing to poor batting performances.
Virat Kohli and KL Rahul somehow managed to get a half-century, while Rohit Sharma’s was dismissed after scoring 47 runs. Notably, following them, no other batters could help much, and they were all out for just 240 runs in 50 overs. However, during the chase, the team also got off to a great start as they took three wickets in the powerplays.
Following that, left-handed batter Travis Head and middle-order batter Marnus Labuschagne sparked the great partnership that helped them chase down the total with 42 balls to spare in the game in front of a massive crowd of Indian cricket fans in the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad. However, despite losing in the finals, a plethora of cricket experts have shown their support for Team India.
Notably, the legendary Sachin Tendulkar is one of them, who lauded the Australia team and shared heartwarming posts for the Men in Blue. The 2011 ODI World Cup-winning star showed his support for Team India while recalling their great victories in the all-nine games of the league stage, alongside beating New Zealand in the semi-final game. Notably, his heartwarming post has gone viral on social media with lots of appreciation from the fans.
Hard luck Team India, just one bad day: Sachin Tendulkar
“Congratulations to Australia on their sixth World Cup win. On the most important day of the biggest stage, they played better cricket,” Sachin Tendulkar wrote on X.
“Hard luck Team India, just one bad day in an otherwise sterling tournament can be heartbreaking. I can imagine the agony of the players, fans and well-wishers and what they must be going through. Losses are a part of the sport but let us remember that this unit gave their all for us throughout the tournament,” he added further.
