‘Honestly, I haven’t thought about it…….’ – Rahul Dravid uncertain of his future as India coach
Team India suffered a heartbreaking six-wicket loss over Australia, who was dominating in the ODI World Cup 2023 final on November 19 at the iconic Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad. However, India’s head coach, Rahul Dravid, has opened up about his future plans as his stint as head coach came to an end. Rahul Dravid, widely recognized as Mr. Wall, has guided his side to two finals and one semi-final in his stint.
The former India skipper reveals that he didn’t think about continuing his stint as head coach further. In addition, the legendary cricketer revealed that his primary focus was on the ODI World Cup 2023, and he didn’t get the time to think about his future as head coach.
“I haven’t thought about it. I’ve just come off a game. I had no time to think about this and no time to reflect on this. Yeah, I will when I get the time to do that. At this point of time, I was completely focused on this campaign and there was nothing else on my mind. And I haven’t given any other thought to what happens in the future,” Rahul Dravid said at a post-match media conference.

The former batting legend also says that he has no plans as such after the ODI World Cup 2023 campaign. Moreover, the 50-year-old cricketer also opened up about the next ODI World Cup, which will take place in South Africa in 2027.
“Honestly, I haven’t thought about it. I think all our campaign, all our energies were focused on this match, focused on this tournament, and focused till here. And I haven’t actually given it any thought, I have had no plans of what’s going to happen in the future. I’m not really thinking about 2027 and who’s going to be there and who’s not going to be there,” he further added.
