‘Most ignored player of India’ – Fans react as Sanju Samson’s magnificent ton guides India to post challenging total in 3rd ODI vs South Africa

India’s star cricketer, Sanju Samson, hammered a magnificent century in the third ODI against South Africa to guide India to a challenging total of 296/8 at Boland Park in Paarl. Notably, the wicketkeeper batter smashed 108 runs from 114 balls, featuring six boundaries and three sixes that helped India post a great total.

Speaking about the game here, South African skipper Aiden Markram won the toss and invited the visitors to bat first. Notably, after being put to bat first, debutant Rajat Patidar was only able to make 22 runs, while star opening batter Sai Sudarshan was able to score just 10 runs, which was a very poor start for Team India.

However, Sanju Samson changed the momentum of the game thanks to his batting brilliance. Moreover, the stylish right-handed batter stitched the great stand with Tilak Varma, who also scored 52 runs from 77 balls to put Team India in a commanding position.

Meanwhile, Sanju Samson has revealed his emotions after hammering the great century against Proteas in a must-win encounter. In addition, the Rajasthan Royals skipper was ecstatic to achieve the landmark, as he worked hard physically and mentally to reach near his maiden ODI century.

Feels really emotional, going through the emotions now: Sanju Samson

“Feels really emotional, going through the emotions now. Very happy to achieve this. Have been putting in a lot of work physically and mentally, happy to see the results go my way now. They bowled really well with the new ball, and the older ball was getting slower and more difficult to bat. So after KL got out, they had the momentum where Maharaj was bowling very well. But me and Tilak stuck it out and went strong at the end,” Sanju Samson said at the mid-innings break.

India (Playing XI): Rajat Patidar, Sai Sudharsan, Tilak Varma, KL Rahul(w/c), Sanju Samson, Rinku Singh, Washington Sundar, Axar Patel, Arshdeep Singh, Avesh Khan, Mukesh Kumar
South Africa (Playing XI): Reeza Hendricks, Tony de Zorzi, Rassie van der Dussen, Aiden Markram(c), Heinrich Klaasen(w), David Miller, Wiaan Mulder, Keshav Maharaj, Nandre Burger, Lizaad Williams, Beuran Hendricks
