‘Very Well Played’ – Fans react as India beat South Africa by 78 runs to win ODI series 2-1

Team India won the ODI series 2-1 against South Africa on December 21 at Boland Park in Paarl. Notably, the Men in Blue were already ahead in the ODI series after their victory in the first game; however, they could not continue the winning momentum, which made them lose the second ODI game of the series on December 19. However, the Men in Blue bounced back magnificently in the third ODI to help India win the series by 2-1.

Speaking about the game here, South African skipper Aiden Markram won the toss and invited KL Rahul-led Team India to bat first in the game. Notably, after being put to bat first, they had an awful start as debutant Rajat Patidar failed with his batting as he was only able to make 22 runs. In addition, opening batter Sai Sudarshan also departed for just 10 runs.

However, Sanju Samson smashed his century as he went on to hammer 108 runs from 114 balls, featuring six fours and three boundaries to boost Team India’s batting attack. In addition, Mumbai Indians batter Tilak Varma got 52 runs, which helped India post a respectable total against the home team in the third and final ODI.

South Africa kept losing wickets which helped Team India win the series by 2-1

However, during the chase, opening batter Reeza Hendricks departed for 19 runs, though star batter Tony de Zorzi hammered 81 runs, featuring six boundaries and three sixes that gave them a great start and made a big difference in the game. Meanwhile, the home team kept losing consecutive wickets, which helped Team India win the series by 2-1 in Paarl.
