Former England captain warns India to not take England lightly in Tests
Nasser Hussain has issued a warning to the Indian team to not take England lightly. The former England captain has claimed England to have their chances to win the Test series in India. While Nasser claimed India to be the favourites to win the series, he added that Bazball has overcome all the challenges they have faced so far under the duo of Stokes and McCullum.
“India are the favorites, but every single challenge Bazball has faced they’ve stuck to their guns and Ben Stokes and Brendon McCullum’s record is seriously good, I wouldn’t write them off,” said Hussain as he felt that writing England off would be a bad decision. It is good to note that England has not lost a Test series since Ben Stokes has taken over the leadership.
Hussain thought that Bazball is a good way to play cricket and added that England have been successful in embracing the way of play. The former England batter felt England had been successful at home. Nasser acknowledged that India and Australia are the toughest challenges in Test cricket and felt that winning in India would be a huge challenge for England.
It will be fascinating cricket – Nasser Hussain
“Bazball has been very successful, especially at home, and the two toughest places to tour are India or Australia. It’s going to be a massive challenge for England,” added Nasser in his statement. Hussain claimed that India are not yet aware of Bazball as well, particularly in India. Nasser expressed his interest to see how India would go about their business in the series against England.
“India want to see how this new approach will work at home. It will be fascinating cricket and will be interesting to see how this particular side will go against what is one of the great cricketing outfits at the moment, which is the India side,” added Nasser in his statement. The first Test of the series will be happening at Rajiv Gandhi stadium in Hyderabad from the 25th of January.
