‘So, like for like kind of swap’ – Michael Vaughan comes up with bizarre comparison between Virat Kohli and Harry Brook ahead of India vs England Test series

Former English cricketer Michael Vaughan has humorously talked about the absence of Harry Brook and Virat Kohli in the upcoming five matches of the Test series slated to commence on January 25 at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad. Notably, the English batter has opted out of the full series, whereas Virat Kohli has pulled out of the first two games, citing personal reasons.

However, the former English captain said that it is a like-for-like situation for both sides. The absence of both stars will be a huge blow for both sides, as both are expected to score maximum runs in the series.

“Obviously the news in the last 48 years, Harry Brook is unfortunately going to go home. Virat Kohli misses the first two, again for personal reasons. So, like for like kind of swap. Virat for Harry Brook,” Michael Vaughan said on the Club Prairie Fire podcast.

Do you think England will win 5-0 or 4-0?: Michael Vaughan

Meanwhile, the former batting legend asked his former teammate Phil Tufnell if England could win the series by 5-0 or 4-0.

“Now all the talk is a 5-0, Phil. Do you think England will win 5-0 or 4-0? What do you think it is gonna be?” Michael Vaughan questioned.

However, Phil Tufnell accepted that the Ben Stokes-led English side could struggle a bit owing to Indian conditions, as Team India is a very strong side in their own conditions. In addition, Tufnell also talks about the absence of star opening batter Harry Brook and how crucial he was in the upcoming Test series. Meanwhile, Phil Tufnell feels Ben Foakes will get the chance in his absence.

“I think, we are going to struggle a little bit. A bit of a loss losing Harry Brook. He is a fantastic player, great player of spin but I think in a funny sort of way, it might just balance up the side a little bit because they are definitely going to go with Foakes keeping. On those kind of pitches, you’ve got to go with Foakes,” Phil Tufnell said.
