‘ABD, Chris Gayle Look Pale In Front of Surya’ – Former Pakistan cricketer applauds star India batter after third T20I against Sri Lanka

Suryakumar Yadav’s explosive century against Sri Lanka during the third T20I match on Saturday in Rajkot left everyone in awe. The batter’s unbroken 112-run innings, which included nine sixes and seven fours, was completed in just 51 balls.

With this century, the 32-year-old batsman also reached his third T20I century and entered the select group of just five international batters who have done so. Rohit Sharma tops the list with four tons, followed by Suryakumar, Sabawoon Davizi, Colin Munro, and Glenn Maxwell, all of whom have three centuries apiece.

He has already eclipsed them and has taken T20 cricket to a whole new level: Danish Kaneria

Due to the variety of his shots, Suraykumar is sometimes compared to South African legend AB de Villiers. He led Team India to a convincing victory in the series-deciding game on Saturday. But former Pakistani spinner Dinesh Kaneria went one step further and compared Surya to legendary West Indies player Chris Gayle, also known as “Universe boss.”

“The new Universe Boss is Suryakumar Yadav-the beast. Now, what can I tell about this lad, even before I have said that a player like Suryakumar comes once in a lifetime? The innings which he played today, scoring 112 off 51, no one can replicate that. You can speak about ABD, and Chris Gayle but even these two look pale in front of Surya. He has already eclipsed them and has taken T20 cricket to a whole new level,” said Kaneria on his YouTube channel.

Suryakumar, once again, proved why he is unrivaled in the shortest format with a brilliant century as India defeated Sri Lanka by 91 runs in the third T20I to clinch the series in spectacular fashion on Saturday in Rajkot.

Surya led India to a commanding 228 for five, making it easy for his bowlers to do their jobs with a spectacular 112 not-out off 51 balls for his third T20I century. In order to score his third century in the format, he played with the Sri Lankan bowlers throughout, hitting fours and maximums at whim and in his signature style all over the field.
