England make 2 changes for 4th Test, Shoaib Bashir and Ollie Robinson included in playing XI vs India

The England cricket team has announced the playing XI for the fourth Test game, which is slated to commence on February 23 in Ranchi. Notably, the Ben Stokes-led side has made mainly two major changes to the squad, as English star cricketer Ollie Robinson gets the chance in the squad while great pacer Mark Wood gets ruled out. However, spinner Rehan Ahmed makes way for young spinner Shoaib Bashir in the next Test game.

However, there were reports that James Anderson would also miss the fourth Test, but he has been named in the playing XI for the England side. On the other hand, English skipper Ben Stokes was seen backing wicketkeeper batter Jonny Bairstow despite his poor form in the Test series against India.

Ben Stokes has opened up about giving a chance to Ollie Robinson in the fourth Test match

Meanwhile, English skipper Ben Stokes has opened up about giving a chance to Ollie Robinson in the fourth Test match. Notably, the star cricketer was out of the squad after sustaining injuries in Ashes 2023. Ben Stokes accepted that it was tough for them to not give the fast bowler a chance in the first three games. The left-handed batter reveals that Ollie Robinson has worked really hard over the past two weeks and has improved his fitness, which prompted him to get a chance in the squad.

“I told him today he has been a great example of doing the right things and waiting your turn if it comes. Not playing the first three Tests can be tough and disappointing. But the way he has cracked on and got his fitness stuff in and not let disappointment get in the way of a potential chance that might come in this series,” Ben Stokes said while addressing the pre-match press conference.

England Playing XI for the 4th Test: Ben Stokes (captain), Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, Ollie Pope, Joe Root, Jonny Bairstow, Ben Foakes (wicketkeeper), Tom Hartley, Ollie Robinson, James Anderson, Shoaib Bashir
