English players set to follow Alex Hales’ suit, will miss Bangladesh tour to play in PSL
According to the latest report, a few English players might skip the upcoming Bangladesh tour, which comprises three T20s and as many ODIs starting from 1st March. However, English batter Alex hales has decided to skip the tour and be available for Pakistan Super League (PSL). Hales, who has been retained by Islamabad United for EUR 145,000 is set to join the camp in the upcoming week.
Following Hales, other English players have also looked to opt out of the Bangladesh tour to honour their franchises. Wicketkeeper-batter Sam Billings along with Liam Dawson and James Vince is also believed to choose PSL over touring South Asian nations with the national team, as per reports from Telegraph.
Lahore Qalandars replaces Rashid Khan with Sam Billings
Lahore Qalandars picked Sam Billings as a partial replacement for Rashid Khan in the recently concluded replacement draft. Although Dawson is already a member of the franchise, Vince is also expected to play for Karachi Kings throughout the tournament.
Left-arm fast bowler Tymal Mills, who was recently picked up by Islamabad United as a replacement, is also eyeing to be unavailable for the T20I series against Bangladesh. He will be accompanied by Richard Gleeson who is recently drafted as a replacement by Peshawar Zalmi.
England’s Bangladesh tour will start on March 1 while PSL will commence between February 13 to March 19. In their recent encounter against South Africa, England bashed Proteas by 59 runs. Jos Buttler and David Malan shined with the bat before Jofra Archer’s six-wicket haul. Although, England lost the series by 2-1.
