‘Kohli se kahin achha uska technique hai’ – Pakistani pacer triggers debate
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are modern-day greats of Indian cricket. They both have served the nation for more than a decade now and have ruled world cricket. However, the debate of who is bigger than whom is seeing no end. After fan wars, now former cricketers are also instigating the issue for their personal gains.
The latest entrant on the list is Pakistani bowler Sohail Khan. Sohail, who earlier revealed how he sledged Virat Kohli, now tried to fuel the fire between cricket fans. While speaking with Nadir Ali on his podcast, Sohail said that Rohit Sharma is better than Virat Kohli.
“Virat Kohli is a great batter, but Rohit Sharma is even better than Kohli. Rohit is technically better, he plays late and has a lot of time. Rohit ruled world cricket for 10-12 years. He plays it very late and has a lot of time.” When the host said that Rohit is struggling, he replied: “Cricket hai, 15 years se raaj bhi to kar raha tha (This is cricket, he had ruled it for 15 years).”
Virat fir dusri ki bhi koshish karta hai but Rohit Sharma nahi karta: Sohail Khan
Further speaking about Virat Kohli’s fitness Sohail says, “Kohli jo khelta hai wo apni fitness pe khelta hai, agar wo ek run banata hai to wo fir dusri ki bhi koshish karta hai. Rohit Sharma nahi karta. (Kohli plays on his fitness, he takes the first run and looks for the second, but Rohit doesn’t). Rohit karta hai balle se run, Virat Kohli balle se bhi aur tango se bhi karta hai (Rohit scores through his bat, Kohli through the bat and his legs).”
The ‘Virat Kohli vs Rohit Sharma’ debate is nothing new. For years, there has been no clear winner in the debate. Both are legends of the game and have nothing to prove. The numbers themselves construct the case.
Kohli and Rohit both are currently with Team India and preparing for the Border Gavaskar Trophy, in 2023. India is set to host Australia in four-match Test series starting from February 9th in Nagpur. This series will be very important for the team as Rohit and co. will be looking to book their place at the finals of the Test Championship.
