Watch: ‘Main coach thodi hun’- Babar Azam tries to give Rohit Sharma-like answer in press conference during PSL

In the post-match conference of the PSL match between Peshawar Zalmi and Islamabad United, Peshawar skipper Babar Azam replied to a journalist in the same manner as Rohit Sharma did during the 2019 World Cup.

Babar Azam was asked about the performance of his previous franchise Karachi Kings. Karachi have lost four out of their five matches, so far. Babar was asked about the improvements his ex-franchise needs to bounce back in the rest of the tournament. He came with a hilarious reply and said that he is not the coach of Karachi, and asked the journalists to bring questions about the recent match against Islamabad.

“Main unka coach thodi hu? Aapse mujhse puch rahe hai unke baare mein. Aj ke match ki baat karte hai (Am I their coach? Why are you asking me about them? let’s talk about today’s match),” said Babar during the press conference.

The answer was very much similar to what Rohit said during the press conference in 2019. The current Indian skipper was asked about how the Pakistani batters can improve their game, to which he replied that will definitely tell if he becomes the coach of Pakistan.

“Agar main Pakistan ka coach bana to main bataunga, abhi kya bataunga (If I become the coach of Pakistan, I can tell. What will I say now),” said Rohit.

Talking about the match, Islamabad registered a convincing victory against Peshawar on Thursday in Karachi. Batting first, Peshawar managed to score 156 runs for the loss of 8 wickets, powered by the skipper Babar, who remained unbeaten on 75 runs off 58 balls. Hasan Ali was the main anchor of Islamabad’s bowling as he scalped 3 wickets.

Chasing the total, Rahmanullah Gurbaz laid the foundation for Islamabad scoring 62 off 31. After that, Rassie van der Dussen took the charge as he scored 42 off 29 balls. Asif Ali (29 off 13) and Azam Khan remained unbeaten as the United chased 159 runs with 6 wickets in hand and 31 balls remaining.
