‘Gauti bhai should learn from DK’ – Fans react as Dinesh Karthik shares his experience with MS Dhoni while playing for India A

Star India batter Dinesh Karthik recently opened up about his journey with the Chennai franchise skipper MS Dhoni on a recent podcast show at the Bangalore franchise podcast where he said that he and the former India skipper started their international career together at India A. He said that Dhoni performed exceedingly well on India A tour and he didn’t have any regrets. He added that Dhoni took each and every opportunity that he got and went on to become the world’s best wicketkeeper and the apple of the eye of fans with his performance.

“Dhoni & I started together in India A, I was picked first then Dhoni had a terrific India A tour, it was Dhoni’s mania then, and I had no regrets, he took every opportunity, and became number 1 keeper & hero for the public with his performance,” Karthik was quoted as saying on the Bangalore franchise podcast.

A fan asked the 37-year-old who is his best batting partner to which Karthik replied Dhoni and Hardik Pandya. As many would have predicted, he would name either Rohit Sharma or Virat Kohli, thus this would come as a surprise.

Karthik, who hasn’t played for Men in Blue since the 20-20 World Cup, will next be seen playing for the Bangalore franchise in the upcoming edition of the Indian T20 League. Fans will be hopeful he can build on his incredible 2022 season in 2023. Karthik highlighted Kohli’s recent struggles against spin before the Delhi Test. He explained that the team plays a lot of cricket overseas, which supports his statement.

“You look back at the time I’m sure he’s a better player of fast bowlers than he started out. Maybe his game against spin has dropped a bit, but that is fine and relatively understandable. You don’t play as many spinners when you travel abroad, you don’t play so much of good spinners, probably you would end up playing in the domestic circuit for longer hours, even if you play in the subcontinent,” he said.
