‘Get well soon champion’ – Fans react as Rishabh Pant posts video of walking in Swimming Pool on social media
Star India wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant was involved in a car crash last year in December because of which he faced numerous injuries. On Wednesday, the Delhi franchise player shared a video in which he was seen walking in the swimming pool with the help of crutches on his Instagram feed.
Pant has been frequently uploading photos on social media to keep fans updated on his recovery from the injury, but this is the first time he has uploaded a video of himself walking. “Grateful for a small thing, big things. And everything in between,” Pant captioned the video.
Numerous well-known personalities have sent Pant their best wishes as he continues to recover. Former head coach of Men in Blue, Ravi Shastri was one among them. Keep it up, Panty,” the 60-year-old wrote. Fans immediately responded to Shastri’s tweet. Although having the best of intentions, his “Panty” remark made people laugh online.
Rishabh Pant likely to miss ODI World Cup 2023 in India
Pant was a key member of the Indian team in all matches up until the car accident that happened on December 30 of last year. The wicketkeeper-batter’s car collided with a road barrier on the Delhi-Dehradun highway while he was returning home. He first received treatment at a nearby hospital before being airlifted to a private hospital in Dehradun. Pant returned to Mumbai in January of this year, where his treatment was continued at the Kokilaben Dhirubai Ambani Hospital.
The doctors have not yet given Pant an accurate time for returning to training, but according to reports, the Indian Cricket Board and the selectors believe Pant will be out for at least six months. The ODI World Cup later this year may perhaps be affected by the batter’s absence from the majority of games in 2023.
At the moment, in Pant’s absence, team India are trying various wicketkeeping options in all three formats, which includes the likes of KL Rahul, Ishan Kishan, and KS Bharat.
