Telugu Warriors continue their dominance in the Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) as they beat Bhojpuri Dabanggs in the finals to calim the title in the league for the fourth time. Captain Akhil Akkineni led the team from the front as he hammered an excellent half-century. Akhil scored 67 runs off 32 balls to give his team a hefty lead in the 1st innings.

Earlier, after winning the toss, Warriors decided to bowl first. The team did well in the field and didn’t let Dabanggs fire. Dabanggs kept losing wickets at regular intervals and scored 71 runs in the first innings. Nandakishore shined with the bowl for the Warriors as he clinched two wickets in the first innings. He was well supported by Raghu and Prince who took one wicket each.

In response to Dabanngs innings, with the help of a fiery inning of skipper, Akhil Akkineni Warriors posted a total of 104 runs in 10 overs. They took a lead of 32 runs in the first innings and put Dabanggs under pressure. Akkineni in his innings hammered six maximums and two fours to outplay Dabanggs. He was eventually dismissed by Vikrant Singh in the 9th over of the game. Allrounder Asgar Khan shines with the bowl for Dabanggs as he clinched three wickets and tried to put pressure on the Warriors.

Bhojpuri Dabanggs batted below par 

In their second innings, Dabanggs didn’t send Manoj Tiwary to bat as he was too slow in the first innings. However, this decision didn’t make any change in their fortune as they scored just 89 runs in 10 overs. Warriors were given a target of 58 runs to win their record fourth title of the tournament.

While chasing a small target Warriors lost their only wicket at the score of 23 runs as opener Thaman was dismissed by Vikrant Singh. In the second innings, Ashwin Babu shined with the bat for the Warriors as he scored 31 runs off 21 balls with the help of three 4s and one maximum. He along with Sachin Joshi added 35 runs for the second wicket to defeat Dabanggs by nine wickets.

Meanwhile, fans react to Telugu Warriors’ dominance in the Celebrity Cricket League and call them real champions. A Twitter user said, “Akhil Akkineni ko Bangalore ka captain banao.”
