‘He delivered milk packets’ – Former India bowler makes big revelation about Rohit Sharma ahead of Indian T20 League 2023
The Mumbai franchise are the most successful franchise in the Indian T20 League (ITL), winning title on five occasions, which is the most by any team. However, Mumbai’s performance in the last season was terrible as they stood last in the points table with just four victories out of 14 matches they played.
The Mumbai side will look to make a strong comeback in the upcoming season, which is scheduled to kick off on Friday, March 31 at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium. The Mumbai side will lock horns against the Bangalore franchise on Sunday, April 2 at the M. Chinnaswammy Stadium. Mumbai skipper Rohit Sharma will also try to regain his form as he was not able to score a single fifty in the last edition.
I feel very proud of how our journey started and where we reached: Pragyan Ojha
His former teammate, Pragyan Ojha, recalled the time spent with the Men in Blue skipper. During the first season, both Rohit and Ojha played for the Mumbai franchise before moving from Deccan Chargers. Ojha also highlighted an amazing event involving the Mumbai’s skipper, when he was forced to carry milk cartons to fund his cricketing career.
“When I first met Rohit in the U-15 national camp, everyone said he was a very special player. There, I played against him and took his wicket. Rohit being a typical Bombay guy, didn’t speak much but was aggressive when he played. In fact, I was very surprised as to why he was being so aggressive with me when we didn’t know each other! But after that our friendship began to grow,” Ojha was quoted as saying on Jio Cinema.
“He was from a middle-class family and I remember he once got emotional when we discussed how his budget for cricket kits was restricted. In fact, he also delivered milk packets – of course that was really a long time ago – so that he could buy his kit. Now when I see him, I feel very proud of how our journey started and where we reached,” added Ojha.
