‘Are uss din toh Zimbabar ka janamdin bhi hai’ – Fans react as India and Pakistan are set to face off on October 15 in ODI World Cup 2023
The ODI World Cup 2023 is set to be played later this year in October-November which will be hosted by India. Meanwhile, the much-awaited clash between India and Pakistan will be played on Sunday, October 15 and it is also expected to be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium which is the largest cricket stadium in the world with a capacity of over 1 lakh spectators. Now in a recent report, it is also being claimed that India can play its first match against Australia in Chennai.
According to the latest report in Cricbuzz, the first match of the tournament will be played between last edition’s finalists England and New Zealand at the Narendra Modi Stadium on October 5 and the final will also take place at the same venue on November 19. At the same time, according to another report, India’s league matches will be held at seven places.

India will start their campaign against five-time winners Australia. According to reports, as per the tentative schedule prepared so far, 1992 World Cup winners Pakistan will play their matches in Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Bengaluru. However, the fans will be eagerly waiting for India vs Pakistan match, that too on the biggest international platform. Interestingly, Pakistan skipper Babar Azam also celebrates his birthday on October 15 and his fans will expect him to score big against India on that day.
Meanwhile, both teams will be facing each other in the upcoming Asia Cup, however, its schedule is yet to be announced as there was a dispute between the Indian Cricket Board and the Pakistan Cricket Board over the hosting rights of the tournament as India decided not to go Pakistan for Asia Cup.
Apart from Ahmedabad, Chennai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad, Kolkata, Delhi, Indore, Dharamshala, Guwahati, Rajkot, Raipur, and Mumbai are the designated places. Mohali and Nagpur are out of the list of stadiums where World Cup matches will be played. The semi-finals are expected to be played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, which witnessed the 2011 ODI World Cup final.
