‘Aaj 17 crore ki value dikhaadi Green ne’ – Fans react to a third consecutive win for Mumbai in the IPL 2023

Mumbai Indians toured Hyderabad for a match against the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League on Tuesday. Aiden Markarm won the toss and chose to field first on a dry pitch which might suit the spinners a lot. Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan started off well and were looking to attack from the start.

Rohit Sharma departed after a small cameo which saw him reach 6000 IPL runs as well. Ishan Kishan and Cameron Green took the innings forward but were struggling against spin. They were getting boundaries rarely and Ishan Kishan got dismissed after looking to attack. Suryakumar was also removed after a short three ball stay which saw him score only seven.

Local boy Tilak Varma joined marquee signing Cameron Green at the crease and both were looking to get decent runs for the side. They made a 50-run partnership with Tilak being the aggressor. Bhuvneshwar Kumar got rid of Varma with the help of a well-executed slower ball. Cameron Green reached his fifty and along with national teammate Tim David took the innings forward and attacked in the death overs. Boundaries continued to flow as the duo helped Mumbai reach a total of 192/5 which is a great total on such a dry pitch.

Jason Behrandorff got two early wickets and they were big ones as he dismissed Harry Brook and Rahul Tripathi. Aiden Markarm and Mayank Aggarwal had the job to take the innings forward as the team was in need of a big partnership. They built a healthy 46 run partnership and were finding boundaries with ease. Then Cameron Green picked up a wicket against the run of play and was able to dismiss the opposition skipper. In the very next over, Piyush Chawla scalped the wicket of the youngster Abhishek Sharma to put MI back on top. Heinrich Klassen joined Aggarwal on the crease and were looking to fire with intent.

Piyush Chawla got the wicket of the dangerous Klassen who smacked him for 21 in the first five balls of his final over. In the very next over, Riley Meridith got the wicket of the set batter Mayank Aggarwal to put Mumbai in the driving seat. The task was difficult but with less wickets in hand, it was close to impossible.

Marco Jansen played some shots but was removed soon after by Meridith who was excellent today against the team from Hyderabad. Match became close with a flurry of boundaries and Hyderabad needed 20 from the final over. But Arjun Tendulkar kept his calm as he scalped the final wicket and his first in the tournament. Mumbai won the game by 14 runs and won their third consecutive game on the trot.
