‘Do they actually want to win?’ – Aakash Chopra hit out at Australia ahead of 3rd T20I vs India
Team India is all set to lock horns against Australia for the third T20I slated to take place in Guwahati on November 28. Notably, the new ODI World Cup 2023 champions have lost the first and second T20I, and the loss in their next game can make them lose the series against the runners-up of the ODI World Cup 2023. However, former India cricketer Aakash Chopra takes a slight dig at Australia ahead of the next T20I.
The well-renowed cricket commentator questioned Australia about whether they were aiming to win against India or not after winning the ODI World Cup 2023 title. In addition, the former India opener feels Aussies are emotionally drained after winning the ODI World Cup 2023.
“The Australian team needs to buck up but the big question is – Do they actually want to win? Are they here to win? ‘What else you here for’ – it reminds me of Kapil paaji (Dev). It is being heard that some reinforcements are being sent for Australia. They are slightly emotionally drained after winning the World Cup,” Aakash Chopra said.

However, Aakash Chopra also hit out at Australia star opener Matthew Short and told him to keep his ego aside, especially in front of star cricketer Ravi Bishnoi ahead of the third T20I. The Mumbai-born cricketer backs Team India to win the series against Australia. Moreover, the 46-year-old cricketer wants India to make 3-0 and destroy the opposition.
“I will want to give a suggestion to Matthew Short. Keep your ego aside because Ravi Bishnoi will come and bowl you a googly – you, Ravi Bishnoi, I, our commentary team, the Australian team, the Indian team, and the 25,000 spectators in Guwahati know that – so play a little cautiously. What is there for India here? Firstly it is a chance to win the series. Make it 3-0, destroy the opposing team,” he added further.
