‘Prasidh Krishna went for 68 runs but…….’ – Aakash Chopra questions Team India’s mindset after loss in 3rd T20I vs Australia

Team India suffered a defeat in the third T20I against Australia on November 28 in Guwahati. Notably, the hosts posted a massive total against the visitors and had a great start while defending as well. However, the home team could not continue the great momentum, and the bowlers conceded too many runs in the death overs, which easily helped Australia win the match by 5 wickets in the last ball.

Speaking of the same subject, former India cricketer Aakash Chopra slammed Suryakumar Yadav-led Team India for not using the right bowlers at the right time, which made them lose the game despite a good total on board. Notably, the well-renowned cricket commentator feels Axar Patel should have bowled the last over. The cricketer-turned-analyst feels Prasidh Krishna should not be given the 18th and 20th overs as he was already conceding too many runs.

“Axar Patel bowled the 19th over. Prasidh Krishna was extremely expensive but he bowled the 18th and 20th overs. India still did not use six bowlers. Prasidh Krishna went for 68 runs but you got him to bowl because you didn’t even try to use a sixth bowler. Axar was bowling extremely well but you held him back for the 19th over. A huge error in the calculation because you did not use a sixth bowler, got a spinner to bowl the 19th over, and Prasidh Krishna to bowl the 18th and 20th overs, and you got hit a lot,” Aakash Chopra said on his YouTube channel.

I am unable to understand at all that why no one is bowling him bouncers: Aakash Chopra

Chopra also questioned why no bowlers were using bouncers in front of Australian star Travis Head. Moreover, the 46-year-old cricketer feels Team India could have easily won the game if they had used the correct bowler at the right time with pragmatic skills and a tactical approach while defending the large total.

“It’s not easy to chase 223 but Travis Head again started hitting. I am unable to understand at all that why no one is bowling him bouncers. We are saying everywhere that he should be bowled bouncers but no one did that,” he added further.
