‘What a bowler Jasprit Bumrah’ – AB de Villiers heaps praise on India’s pacer after his match-wining spells vs England in Vizag Test
Former South African cricketer AB de Villiers heaped praise on star bowler Jasprit Bumrah after his match-winning spell against England in the second Test match at Vizag. Notably, Team India won the second Test match by a huge margin after Jasprit Bumrah’s nine-wicket haul played a pivotal role in India’s victory over England.
However, AB de Villiers lauded Jasprit Bumrah for his magnificent bowling spells, which was the major reason for India’s levelling up the series by 1-1. The legendary cricketer feels Jasprit Bumrah’s Yorker is the main threat for the opponents, who helped India win the matches. Meanwhile, Jasprit Bumrah becomes the first Indian pacer to achieve the top spot in the Test rankings.
“Bumrah shaandar bowling karta hai (Bumrah bowls brilliantly). What a bowler Jasprit Bumrah! He outbowled other Indian bowlers, but I feel the others took their turn and it was hunting in packs. Their figures don’t look great, yes. But they did play a role in setting up for him. It is not an individual sport and this is what I like about this Indian attack. Playing against him, I would always think of the Yorker as his stock threat or main threat. Even in Tests, he picks a lot of wickets with that,” AB de Villiers said on his YouTube channel.
That is certainly Jasprit Bumrah’s weapon across all the formats he plays in: AB de Villiers
The former wicketkeeper batter was ecstatic to witness Team India win the Test match after they were humiliated and crushed in the first Test match in Hyderabad. Moreover, the cricketer turned analyst lauded Team India for having a fighting spirit against England in the Vizag Test match.
“What a great statement by India, wiping off the disappointment of that defeat and making a comeback. That is a sign of a great team, a team that has a fighting spirit. This is as comprehensive as it gets. That is certainly his (Bumrah) weapon across all the formats he plays in,” he added further.
