Adam Gilchrist shares his advice on how to beat undefeated Team India in ODI World Cup 2023

Team India is all set to lock horns against the Netherlands for the last and final game of the league stage of the ODI World Cup 2023, slated to take place on November 12 at M. Chinnaswamy Cricket Stadium in Bengaluru. Notably, the Men in Blue are undefeated in the tournament with eight out of eight wins, and they will be finishing their journey as the table-toppers in the ongoing marquee event.

However, former Australian cricketer Adam Gilchrist came up with a few suggestions for defeating Team India in the ongoing big tournament. The legendary cricketer suggests that teams should bat against the host. Moreover, the wicketkeeper-batsman admitted that Rohit Sharma and Co. are too good at chasing, especially having somebody like chase master Virat Kohli in the squad. The former left-handed batsman feels teams should bat in the daylight against Indian bowlers as opposed to under lights.

“I think firstly winning the toss and batting first, given how India have gone about their business. I don’t suggest that they have a weakness in chasing. They have the greatest-ever run-chase coordinator in Virat Kohli. But the damage that the Indian bowling attack has been doing under lights, has been lethal. Siraj, Shami, and Bumrah have been almost unplayable. It might be more conducive to bat against them in daylight,” Adam Gilchrist told Fox Cricket.

Adam Gilchrist also talks about India’s spin attack while calling it a top-class attack. However, the 51-year-old cricketer feels if they want to give the threat, then they should develop a fast bowling programme.

“India identified that they were a bit top-heavy with the spin talent, especially with the conditions over there. But if they wanted to be competitive overseas, they needed to develop a fast bowling program. The MRF pace academy with Dennis Lillie and now Glenn McGrath certainly helped,” he added further.
