Former Indian skipper and modern-day batting great, Virat Kohli has been missing from the Indian squad for the first two Tests of the five-match series against England. He withdrew his name from the Indian squad citing personal reasons. A lot of rumours and speculations were made about what could be the reasons for Kohli’s withdrawal from the Indian squad.

Meanwhile, the former South Africa skipper and Kohli’s former RCB teammate, AB de Villiers have come up with a big revelation about the possible reasons behind Kohli being unavailable for Team India in the first two Tests of the current series against England.

Here’s what AB De Villiers said about Virat Kohli

De Villiers revealed that Virat Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma are expecting their second baby very soon.

“All I know is he is fine. He is spending a bit of time with his family, that is the reason he is missing the first two Test matches. I am not going to confirm anything else. I cannot wait to see him back. He is fine, he is doing well,” said De Villiers in a video on his YouTube Channel.

“Let me just see what he said. I just want to at least give you (fans) a little bit of love,” he added later.

Furthermore, the former Proteas stalwart also opened up about the conversation between him and Virat Kohli regarding the latter’s absence from the Indian Cricket Team currently.

“So I wrote to him ‘Been wanting to check in with you for a while now, How are you?’. He said ‘I just need to be with my family right now. I am doing well.”

“Yes, his second child is on the way. Yes, it’s family time and things are important to him. If you are not genuine to yourself, you lose track of what you are here for. I think most people’s priority is family. You can’t judge Virat for that. Yes, we miss him. But he has made absolutely the right decision,” he added later.
