Chennai Super Kings continued their dominance at their home ground by defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad by 7 wickets in match number 29 of IPL 2023. Batting first at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, SRH posted a total of 134 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in their 20 overs. In reply, CSK scored 138 runs in 18.4 overs losing 3 wickets.

Chasing the winning total, openers Devon Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad gave a firing start to CSK by adding 87 runs for the first in 11 overs. Gaikwad got out after scoring 35 runs off 30 balls, hitting two boundaries. After that, Conway continued his striking and remained unbeaten on 77 runs off 57 hitting 12 fours and a maximum. Moeen Ali hit the winning boundary to give CSK their fourth win of the season. Mayanka Markhande was the only wicket-taker for SRH as he scalped 2 wickets conceding 23 runs in his four overs.
