‘Bhai India main bhi khel liya kar pehle’ – Fans react to Cheteshwar Pujara’s statement on returning to Indian team
India Test batter Cheteshwar Pujara once again produced a magnificent tone against Somerset on August 11. Notably, India’s star batter scored 117 runs from 113 balls, featuring 11 boundaries, to help Sussex win the match. In addition, the great batter was dropped from the Indian side as he failed to make his mark in the recently concluded World Test Championship final as the Men in Blue suffered a loss against Pat Cummins’ side.
Meanwhile, following the win, the right-handed batter aims to get back to the Indian team. In addition, the stylish batter affirms that he always looks to score big runs in any tournament.
I am still in the scheme of things for India: Cheteshwar Pujara
“Look, I always try and control the things which I can and it’s always about getting as many runs as possible in whatever games I play. I am still in the scheme of things (for India), so I hope that the moment I start scoring runs in first-class games, I’ll be back into the team, but I’ll just try and be in the present, try and take one game at a time,” Pujara said.
Moreover, the 35-year-old batter further says that he will be hoping to get back for Rohit Sharma’s side during the Test series against South Africa, which is slated to take place in December. Furthermore, the Gujarat-born cricketer is right now focusing on performing well in the ongoing championships, as they have the chance to qualify in it.
“We are not going to play any more Test matches in the next two-three months’ time. The next Test series is in South Africa in December so there is a long way to go, but I’ll try and focus on the next few games and then try and move into the Championships because we have a few important Championships games coming up in September. We have a chance to qualify and that’s the prime focus for us,” he added further.

You start scoring runs in matches which matter for the country and not county, then you are still in the game…can't score fast, play right shots but want to play top scoop over keeper and get out

Pujara will remain in the scheme of things whenever there is a tough tour, and so far they don't have anyone who can hold one end on tough pitches.
They have many aggressors in tests, but no anchor like him.

What's the point. When our country needed you the most to play well in english conditions you flopped big time.

He fully deserves to be included in the playing 11. Pujara has a lot of runs left in him.
