‘Bhai sahab ye kis line mein aa gaye’ – Fans react as Shikhar Dhawan reportedly is set to play policemen in ‘Kundli Bhagya’
Shikhar Dhawan is all set to play a cop in Abhishek Kapur’s popular Zee Tv show Kundali Bhagya before the start of the Indian T20 League 2023 season. The southpaw had already posted a sneak peek of the same on social media, where fans praised his stylish attire. After completing the shoot with Anjum Fakih and Abhishek, the actress posted a bunch of pictures with the caption, “Dhawan bhi aur Dabangg bhi.”
In the renowned series Kundali Bhagya on Zee TV, Dhawan will play a police officer. On Instagram, the left-hand batter posted a reel of his police avatar, to which online users applauded in various ways. While some fans praised the opener’s tough appearance, others thought the batter should be more concerned about joining team India again than acting. Fans are still in for a surprise, though, as Dhawan promises to surprise them with his bold acting.
Shubman Gill replaced Shikhar Dhawan
Dhawan isn’t making his acting debut with this project. The 37-year-old appeared in a cameo in the Double XL film, with stars like Sonakshi Sinha and Huma Qureshi. Although that role was only a short cameo, it is still unknown whether this one will be longer or shorter.
Shikhar Dhawan finds himself out of the Indian team since an ODI against Bangladesh in December 2022. The 37-year-old opener has not yet given up on a strong desire to play the World Cup at home later this year.
One of the finest openers India has produced in the 50-over format, Dhawan was dropped from the side following a lean run which included the three games in Bangladesh in December. The southpaw had led the side in New Zealand in November when Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul were rested.
At Dhawan’s place, Shubman Gill joined the squad, and the young opener hasn’t looked back since. His two consecutive strong performances have enabled him firmly establish himself as the team’s first-choice opener after Rohit.
