Former West Indies batting legend Brian Lara heaped praise on India’s swashbuckling batter Virat Kohli for his incredible ODI World Cup 2023 edition. However, Team India could not earn the title as they were totally crushed and humiliated by Australia on the final day.

The West Indies legend cricketer slammed the fans who were saying that Virat Kohli’s runs did not matter in the ODI World Cup 2023 after India did not reach the finals. In addition, the former left-handed batter affirms that India’s batting master has achieved a lot as an individual and guided India to some great wins.

“First of all, for Virat Kohli… I know a lot of people will say or have already said that (Kohli’s performance) does not matter as India did not win the World Cup. Team sport is about winning and you, as an individual player, have to have that as your No.1 target,” Brian Lara said.
