‘Daughter blossom with great blessing’- Shahid Afridi pens heartfelt message after his daughter’s wedding with Shaheen Afridi

Star Pakistani pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi got married to former Pakistan allrounder Shahid Afridi’s daughter Ansha on Friday. The grand wedding ceremony was organized in Karachi. The ceremony was graced by several Pakistani cricketers including Captain Babar Azam, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Naseem Shah, Fakhar Zaman, and Shadab Khan.

Although, a special Twitter note by Shahid Afridi for the couple went viral on social media. A day After the wedding Shahid took to Twitter and wrote a message for the couple. “Daughter is the most beautiful flower of your garden because they blossom with great blessing. A daughter is someone you laugh with, dream with, and love with all your heart. As a parent, I gave my daughter in Nikkah to @iShaheenAfridi, congratulations to the two of them”, Shahid tweeted.

Shahid Afridi last month denied the Pakistan Cricket Board’s request to become the Chief selector of the senior national team. After serving as Interim chief selector for the New Zealand series Afridi wrote on Twitter, “Thanks to the PCB for entrusting me with the chief selector’s role for #PakvNZ series. Thoroughly enjoyed the responsibility. Hope, I lived up to the expectations of the fans with brave/bold decisions. Will always be available to help Pakistan cricket in any way I can.”

Here is the tweet:

Shaheen is currently out of action due to a knee injury. Last year, during the final of the 20-20 world cup he got injured while bowling his third over. His injury cost Pakistan as they lost the match against England.

Since the World Cup, the left-arm pacer has been recovering and is set to make his return in the Pakistan Super League. Shaheen-led Lahore Qalandars will take on Multan Sultans in the opening game of PSL season eight.

Last year Shaheen led Qalandars to their maiden PSL title. Shaheen has played a crucial role with both, the ball and bat. However, to make comeback in the international side Shaheen will have to prove match fitness in PSL. After PSL he can make comeback in the home series against New Zealand and will be a crucial addition for Pakistan ahead of the 50-over World Cup.
