‘We all know how good India are…..’ – New Zealand star batter Devon Conway ahead of first semi-final clash against hosts

Team India won their last and final game of the league stage of the ODI World Cup 2023 against the Netherlands by 160 runs on November 12 at M.Chinnaswamy Cricket Stadium in Bangalore. Notably, the hosts posted a massive total of 410/4 in the given 50 overs, owing to magnificent centuries from India’s middle-order batsmen, Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul. Notably, the hosts had a great start to the game, following the half centuries of India’s skipper Rohit Sharma, opening batsman Shubman Gill, and RCB stalwart Virat Kohli.

Meanwhile, Team India will be hoping to get the same great winning momentum in the upcoming semi-final clash against New Zealand. However, New Zealand star batter Devon Conway has opened up about his emotions after the hosts get the win over the Dutch team. The CSK star opener is ready to take on the challenge of facing a strong Indian side in their next clash.

“We all know how good India are. They are carrying a lot of momentum (and) they have a strong squad. But we are looking forward to that challenge. It is exciting for us to play against the host nation in the semifinal. We know they are going to be a threat, but we are looking forward to that challenge,” Devon Conway said.

The left-handed batter reveals that their side’s wish is to get into the final spot after defeating the hosts. Moreover, the 32-year-old cricketer expects to play good cricket in knockout games. Devon Conway is extremely ecstatic, as they are one step ahead of reaching the finals after successfully placing themselves at the fourth spot in the points table.

“It is one of our goals to be in the World Cup final. It is nice to be one step closer to that goal, everyone is very excited. We’ve been playing some good cricket. For us, it’s about continuing to do what we do. The rest will take care of itself,” he added further.
