It’s true that Test cricket has long been regarded as the finest format since it demands players to be consistent and put in a lot of effort to be in form specially in India.

However, it has been seen that left-handed batters have made a lasting impression on the glorious history of Indian cricket by hitting double hundreds in Test matches.

Meanwhile, here is the list of double centuries by Indian left-handed batters who have hammered for India in Test matches.

Sourav Ganguly

Former India cricketer Sourav Ganguly placed himself in the top position as he hammered 239 runs from 361 balls in the third Test match against Pakistan in Bangalore. The left-handed batter went on to score 239 runs, featuring 30 boundaries and two sixes, which helped India level up the game.

Speaking about the game here, India posted 626 and 284 runs; however, Pakistan also hammered 537 and 162 runs to help India draw the game.

Vinod Kambli

India’s star cricketer, Vinod Kambli, hammered 227 runs against Zimbabwe in a one-off Test match back in 1993, which was played in Delhi. Vinod Kambli made 227 runs from 301 balls, featuring 28 boundaries, which helped India post the great total.

Speaking about the game here, India posted 536/7 before declaring their innings. However, Zimbabwe could only pile up 322 and 201 runs, which helped India win the game by an innings and 13 runs.
