The Indian Cricket team were suffering many injury woes ahead of the Test Championship final which will be played in June at the Oval against Australia. However, during the ongoing 16th edition of the Indian Premier League, India’s wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul pulled his hamstring during a match and is now ruled out of the major championship.

Meanwhile, the Indian Cricket Board have recently announced his replacement. Rahul is replaced by left-handed wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan who hasn’t played a single Test match in his career, however, he was a part of the Test squad against Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy but didn’t get a chance to make the debut.

But, it is unlikely that he will get a place in the squad for the biggest Test clash of the year. Interestingly, many fans were anticipating that the veteran cricketer Wriddhiman Saha will get a recall from the Indian team but that didn’t as the official cricket board have chosen youngster over experience. Saha has done well for the team earlier and was very surprising to see the Indian Cricket Board preferring Kishan over him.

Jaydev Unadkat and Umesh Yadav are also injured

Earlier, the Indian team suffered a huge blow when speedster Jasprit Bumrah and wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant were ruled out of the match as they have the ability to turn the match single-handedly. Both have major contributions to the team in many victories and it’d be pretty difficult for the management to fill their replacement.

India’s major concern will be the fast bowlers as Jaydev Unadkat and Umesh Yadav are also suffering from injuries. Unadkat sustained a shoulder injury during LSG’s training session and is currently doing rehab in the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru. Umesh sustained a minor injury in his left hamstring and is currently avoiding IPL matches, Kolkata Knight Riders medical team are taking care of him. However, India’s two important pacers Mohammed Siraj and Mohammed Shami are currently doing well and will take charge for the Indian bowling lineup against Australia.
