England to have their own chef for India’s tour – Reports
England will be in India for a 5-match Test series. It will be a part of the third cycle of the WTC. Reports claim that England might have their chef for India’s tour to avoid the illness of some of its players. The series between the two teams will start from 25th January and will be played till the 11th of March.
The two teams have had a contrasting journey in the ongoing cycle of WTC. India has been at the top of the table after beating SA at Cape Town. England on the other hand has been at the eighth spot due to so many penalties. The slow over rates in the Ashes 2023 have not helped England and they find themselves just a spot above Sri Lanka.
Ahead of the important tour of India, England has decided to carry a chef along with them for the tour, to avoid players getting ill in a 7-month long tour. England had done the same when they toured Pakistan in the past. Reports claim that England’s move is to help the players who do not like to eat spicy Indian food.
The reason behind carrying a personal chef
A report claimed that England has nothing to do with the hotel management. It was reported that England is fine with the cleanliness and trust in the hotel, but the move to get a chef along with them was purely based on the fact that the players might have illnesses due to changes in food. The report claimed that England would love to have a chef who could provide the players with food with less spice.
“England insists it (the move) has nothing to do with not trusting hotels to provide clean facilities and is instead about ensuring players, especially those who refuse to eat spicy food, are eating nutritious meals rather than filling up on energy bars and pizzas,” a report read. The tour between the two sides will begin on the 25th of January at Hyderabad.
