Former cricketers and experts picks top run-scorer for ODI World Cup 2023; Check out all predictions here

The ODI World Cup 2023 is all set to commence on October 5 in India. Notably, a plethora of batters have shown their excellence and maintained a great spot in the ODI Rankings. This time also, they are well expected to help their side after smashing tones of centuries for their team to help them lift the trophy of the ODI World Cup 2023.

Meanwhile, speaking on the same subject, nine cricket analysts and experts have shared their predictions for the top-run scorer at the ODI World Cup 2023. Notably, former Australia cricketer Shane Watson, former India skipper Mithali Raj, former Pakistan cricketer Waqar Younis, and former star India spinner Piyush Chawla have named India’s young batter Shubman Gill as the highest run scorer.

Notably, the 24-year-old sensational star places himself in the second spot in the ODI rankings and may surpass Babar Azam during the event. The right-handed batter was also the highest run scorer in IPL 2023 and showed his magnificent form in the Asia Cup 2023 as well as the recent series against Australia.

Virat Kohli, Babar Azam, and Rohit Sharma are also named as the highest run scorers of the ODI World Cup 2023

However, former South African skipper Faf Du Plessis and former India pacer Irfan Pathan feel it will be India’s stalwart Virat Kohli owing to his wonderful stats in the ODI World Cup. Notably, the RCB batter has always produced some sensational knocks under pressure, and it seems that he can break the record of Sachin Tendulkar’s ODI century in the ODI World Cup 2023.

Interestingly, Dominic Cork has named India’s skipper Rohit Sharma, as the star cricketer was the leading run-getter during the 2019 ODI World Cup, and this time he also expects to give a great start to his side in the big tournament. Meanwhile, Dale Styen has predicted the ODI number-one batter, Babar Azam, owing to his lethal form this year.

Former India opener Gautam Gambhir believes it will be England skipper Jos Buttler who will be the leading run-scorer. Notably, Jos Buttler knows Indian conditions very well owing to the IPL league. The top-order batter was the leading run scorer for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2022, which guided his side to the finals.
