‘Had a worse experience traveling with Malaysia airlines’ – Deepak Chahar recounts his tale of woe while traveling to Bangladesh
The India tour of Bangladesh will kick start with three ODIs followed by two tests. This is the eleventh country where India would be playing in this calendar year. The first and second ODI will be played at Shere Bangla Stadium, Dhaka on December 4, and on December 7, 2022, respectively. The third ODI and the first test will be played at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chattogram on December 10, and December 14 respectively. The second test and the final match of the series will be played in Dhaka.
Indian right-arm pacer Deepak Chahar had a worse experience traveling with Malaysia Airlines. Chahar along with Shikhar Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer, Shardul Thakur, Rishabh Pant, and Washington Sundar were all flying to Dhaka from Christchurch, New Zealand via Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
He complained that the flight was changed without prior notice and was not offered food despite being in business class. He was waiting for his luggage to arrive with less than 24 hours to go for the match.
Will Deepak Chahar open the bowling against Bangladesh?
“Had a worse experience traveling with Malaysia airlines @MAS .first they changed our flight without telling us and no food in Business class. Now we have been waiting for our luggage for the last 24 hours. Imagine we have a game to play tomorrow,” Chahar tweeted on Saturday morning before the team’s training session.
Malaysian Airlines sent Chahar a complaint link on Twitter but he said that it didn’t work. “May be unavoidable due to operational, weather-related, and technical reasons. We apologize for the inconvenience caused,” the airline replied on Twitter about the change in flight.
“A representative from our Customer Relations team will be in touch with you soon, to follow up on your feedback. You will receive a case reference number once you submitted the feedback form. Once again, we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience,” the Airline tweeted.
The Chennai franchise bowler did not share whether Dhawan, Iyer, Shardul, Pant, or Sundar also had similar problems or not.
Chahar is likely to share the new ball with Mohammad Siraj in the first ODI against Bangladesh on Sunday in the absence of veteran pacer Mohammad Shami who has been ruled out of the three-match series due to a shoulder injury.
