Harmanpreet Kaur gives a massive hint on her injury ahead of 20-20 World Cup 2023

India Women skipper Harmanpreet Kaur provided an update on the medical treatment that she received during Thursday’s Women’s Tri-series final against South Africa in East London. Harmanpreet seemed to be experiencing trouble with her left shoulder, and in addition to a few occasions when the team physio responded to her, she was also observed leaving the field. Speaking after the game, Harmanpreet

“Body is fine. It will take two-three days and it will get better with rest. Unfortunately, we were not able to bat the way we wanted to although the bowlers did well. We have got some good performances from this tournament,” the India skipper asserted in the post-match presentation.

Just have to enjoy yourself, whatever is the situation: Harmanpreet Kaur

During the match against South Africa, India narrowly succeeded in posting some form of total on the scoreboard. In their 20 overs, they could only manage 109/4 runs. The Women in Blue had a great start with the ball, and at one point it appeared that South Africa wouldn’t be able to reach even a small aim of 110.

Chloe Tryon, however, had other ideas as she grabbed victory from the jaws of defeat with a spectacular knock of 57*. The loss didn’t bother Harmanpreet much, though, because she thinks Team India is playing solid cricket as the Women’s 20-20 World Cup approaches.

“Just have to enjoy yourself, whatever is the situation, that’s what we’ve been doing. A lot of positives before heading into the World Cup, we’ve come up with good performances except that we didn’t bat well today but the bowling did well. Keep doing the best things in the world up to do well.”

Most people would be surprised by the outcome because India finished first in the league phase and didn’t have to work very hard to win their games. Even more astonishing is how none of their hitters, even captain Harmanpreet (21 off 22 balls) and opener Smriti Mandhana (0), could put pressure on the South African bowlers.
