Harsha Bhogle’s recent comment on India star batter Virat Kohli is creating a buzz ; Check out the full story

The Indian cricket broadcaster, Harsha Bhogle, who is well-known for his commentary on cricket, found himself in the news unexpectedly as a video expressing his opinions about India’s star cricketer Virat Kohli went viral. Notably, despite being one of the best cricketers of all time, the cricket commentator can be seen saying that in T20 cricket, there are several instances when Virat Kohli getting out might be beneficial for his team. However, the video appears to have been manipulated, but Harsha Bhogle went on to say in his defence that it was just a little of the lengthy conversation he was having.

The well-renowned TV commentator was seen saying that Virat Kohli is the best Test player who aims to remain unbeaten in the red ball of the game irrespective of the strike rate. However, the 62-year-old analyst was also seen talking about Virat Kohli’s early dismissal in T20I games.

“Virat Kohli is playing Test cricket for India and he isn’t supposed to get out. Now, he goes to play for RCB, for India; beyond a certain point, it might actually been the interest of the side for him to get out. How do you reconcile to the fact that I am one of the greatest who have played the game but actually at this stage, it’s in the team’s interest that I get out because the person who is coming in will probably hit 20 of 6 balls,” Harsha Bhogle said at the event.

I say that Virat Kohli is capable of playing across situations: Harsha Bhogle

Meanwhile, Harsha Bhogle expressed his disappointment when fans started fuming at him after making such a claim for the former India skipper. The Hyderabad-born cricket commentator clarified that it is not the full video and only one part has been highlighted, which is showing his bad image on social media.

“I was talking about with social media. The video is cropped just before the point where I say that Virat is capable of playing across situations but that I was only highlighting how even the greatest players have to keep adjusting demands and priorities. With selectively edited reporting, nobody will be able to articulate thoughts again. Can you put out the whole clip please?” he posted on X.
