‘He became busy…we don’t meet very often’ – Former Indian bowler’s big statement on MS Dhoni

There have been media reports of a dispute between MS Dhoni and Harbhajan Singh, two players of India’s 2011 World Cup-winning team. The two have shared many memorable victories and honors with the national team throughout the course of their great careers. They also share the Chennai franchise dressing room. The experienced Indian bowler has finally addressed the alleged conflict between him and Dhoni.

The entire scenario is based solely on rumors because neither of the two former cricketers has ever made an appearance in the media to address the issue. Notwithstanding this, Harbhajan gave a hint when he announced his retirement in December 2021, ending a career spanning 18 years.

“When someone takes over 400 wickets and then he doesn’t get a chance or he’s not been told the reason for the drop, many questions are raised in mind. I asked many people regarding my drop out from the team, but I didn’t get any reply,” Harbhajan was quoted as saying on Dainik Jagran.

We played a lot of cricket for India and have been very, very good friends, and still are: Harbhajan Singh

Following the further discussion about the above statement a month later, in January 2022, the former Chennai spinner attempted to clear the air by denying all of the allegations and adding that his remarks were directed at the Indian Cricket Board.

“I have no complaints against MS. In fact, he has been a good friend all these years. I have complained to the Indian Cricket Board, the sarkar (government) of that time. I call the Board as sarkar! The selectors of that time didn’t do justice to their roles. They didn’t allow the team to be united,” the 42-year-old was quoted as saying on News 18.

On Friday, Harbhajan finally put an end to the rumors by stating that he and Dhoni are “good friends” in an interview with SportsYaari during the Eliminator match between India Maharajas and Asia Lions in the LLC Masters.

“Why would I have a problem with MS Dhoni? We played a lot of cricket for India and have been very, very good friends, and still are. He became busy with his life, and I became busy with mine, and we don’t meet very often. But there’s no rift whatsoever. As far as I know, he hasn’t taken away any of my properties (laughs). But yes, I am interested in some of his properties, especially his farmhouse,” the former Mumbai franchise player asserted.
