‘He must take his time to heal…’ – Former India skipper makes massive statement on Rishabh Pant’s comeback to competitive cricket

Star India wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant is currently running out of cricket due to injuries. The left-hander suffered a car accident in the early hours of December 30 while driving to his native town in Roorkee. This accident forced Pant to miss some important series and tournaments including Indian T20 League and Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Meanwhile, former India Captain Sourav Ganguly has suggested he take his time for recovery.

In a recent interaction with the media, former India skipper said that Rishabh Pant must take his time to recover before making any comeback to competitive cricket.

Speaking about missing Pant during the ITL season 16, Ganguly said, “I am sure that the national team is missing him as well. He’s young and he has got a lot of time left in his career. He is a special player and he must take his time to heal properly. We wish him all the best and I’ll meet him as well.”

‘Ricky Ponting brings intensity during training’, says Ganguly

Further speaking about the Team’s preparations ahead of a long Indian T20 League season, Ganguly praised coach Ricky Ponting. Speaking about him, Ganguly said that Ponting brings a lot of intensity during training sessions and the team is doing well.

“It’s been great to work with the boys and I am looking forward to the season starting. Net Practice is good but we want to get into match mode. Ricky has been fantastic as he brings a lot of intensity during training sessions”, says Ganguly. Notably, Delhi will be led by David Warner in absence of Rishabh Pant. He will lead a team after a couple of years. Delhi is set to face KL Rahul led-Lucknow in their first game of the Indian T20 League season 16. They will lock horns at the iconic Ekkana stadium on April 1.
