‘Young India shining’ – Fans react as India beat England by 5 wickets, claim unassailable 3-1 lead in five-match series

Team India won the fourth Test match by five wickets against England on Day 4 at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi on February 26. Notably, Rohit Sharma and Co. went on to win the series by 3-1 against England, and they will be looking to win the fifth Test match set to take place from March 7 to 11 in Dharamshala.

Speaking about the match here, it was England skipper Ben Stokes who had won the toss and decided to bat first in the game. Notably, after being elected to bat first, they posted 353 runs before getting an all-out in the game. Joe Root was the star of the game, going on to hammer in 122 runs from 274 balls and featuring 10 fours in the game. However, India could only manage to get 307 runs before getting all out in the first inning.

Meanwhile, England had an awful start to the second inning, as they were only able to pile up 145 runs before being bowled out in the game. Notably, Team India chased down 192 runs of the target on Day 4 and went on to win the series by 3-1 on February 26 in Ranchi.

You have to see the situation and play accordingly: Shubman Gill

India’s batter, Shubman Gill, hammered an unbeaten 52 runs from 124 balls, while Dhruv Jurel also made an unbeaten 39 runs from 77 balls to make sure India won the series.

“We were put under pressure by them, but we got a good start by our openers, losing a couple of wickets put pressure. But Jurel came out and took the pressure off. You have to see the situation and play accordingly – they were bowling well and protecting the boundaries, also not giving maidens and keep picking the singles (was the mindset). I just told him (Jurel) you batted beautifully in the first innings and to have the same mindset, try to use the feet to negate the off-spinner,” Shubman Gill said after the win.
