Here is why Indian Cricket Board commentators and crew were wearing black armbands on Day 2 of Ranchi Test

After another exhilarating day in the India vs. England Test series, fans observed something unusual on Day 2 of the Ranchi Test game. Notably, the Indian Cricket Board broadcasters and production staff were seen wearing black armbands during the second day of play in Ranchi. However, it came to light that the Indian commentators and production staff were wearing black armbands as they went through an awful tragedy in their family.

Kamalanadimuthu Thiruvalluvan also referred to as Thiru, was a cameraman for the Indian Cricket Board, having served for many years. He passed away earlier that day. Notably, Thiru was an important part of the Board team because of his contributions and commitment to his profession, and all those who knew him were deeply saddened by the news of his passing.

The Board also confirmed the news that all the broadcasters are wearing black armbands due to this tragedy. In addition, the board offers their prayers to his family.

Our heart goes out to his near and dear ones and the board offers its condolences to his family: Indian Cricket Board

“The board production crew wore black armbands in memory of Thiru who passed away yesterday. Our heart goes out to his near and dear ones and the board offers its condolences to his family,” the Indian Cricket Board mentioned.

Meanwhile, the well-renowned cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle also shared a wonderful note about him. The Indian Cricket Board commentator revealed that he was fully shocked when he got to know about such news. In addition, the great broadcaster says that Thiru was the most smiling person in the world, and he will surely miss him forever.

“Absolutely shocking news. The ever smiling Thiru was a top man. At a time when Indian cameramen weren’t yet rated, Thiru made the mid-wicket camera all his own and was excellent. Everytime we met, I would sing out his full name and he would offer his toothy smile in return. Terrible news,” Harsha Bhogle tweeted.
